Most people assume any battery with a BMS is the same. They‘re not. Here are two things that often get overlooked:
1. Sodium BMS is not the same as lithium BMS. Sodium batteries operate at different voltage ranges and have different charge/discharge characteristics. A BMS designed for lithium batteries won’t work properly on sodium. Sodium needs its own BMS logic.
2. BMS quality varies. Some BMS only monitor basic voltage. A good BMS monitors every cell individually, tracks temperature in real time, and provides actual data—not just a red/green light.
